State Achievement Test    

     

Oklahoma State Achievement Tests are State mandated standardized tests required for public schools to receive federal & state funding  

Oklahoma's Academic Performance Index (API) was created to measure the performance and progress of a school or district based on several factors, primarily state test scores, which the state feels contribute to a students' overall educational success.  Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) is based on federally approved, state defined performance benchmarks. 

Oklahoma's student testing program includes three types of assessments all aligned to the state mandated Core Curriculum and the Priority Academic Student Skills (PASS), adopted by the State Board of Education.

      

EOI 

(End of Instruction) 

 

Grades 8 - 12

 

These on-line & paper tests are competency test aligned to state-mandated curriculum.

They assess students' knowledge of the curriculum objectives for the 7 listed subjects.

 

Achieving Classroom Excellence (ACE) state legislation requires that students

in grades 11 and below, pass Algebra I & English II 

plus 2 of the other 7 EOI Test

OR an alternate test approved by the State Board of Education
as part of their graduation requirements

By state mandate, EOI Testing will be offered 3 times per year:

Winter, Spring & Summer

 

 

EOI Testing Format:

All EOI Test – online computer test

Paper test available only for Students on IEPs

English II & English III Writing Section - paper/pencil

OCCT - CRT

(Oklahoma Core Curriculum – Criterion Reference Test)

Grades 3 - 8

 

These Criterion Reference Tests cover all of the

PASS (Oklahoma Priority Academic Student Skills)

which define what students should  be learning each year

 

Tested Subjects:

3rd Reading, Math

4th Reading, Math

5th  Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, Writing

6th  Reading, Math

7th  Reading, Math, Geography

8th  Reading, Math, Science, US History, Writing

 

 

There are NO re-takes for these test

regardless of the students score

 

These test are only given in the Spring

 

CRT Testing Format:

All but 3 CRT Test - paper/pencil test

3 Test which are on-line computer test are:

Grade 7 - Geography

Grade 8 - Math & Reading

paper test available only for Students on IEPs

Grade 5 & Grade 8 Writing Test - paper/pencil

 OMAAP 

(Oklahoma Modified Alternative Assessment Program)

Grades 3 - 12

 

These assessments are modified versions of EOI & OCCT test,

intended for some students with disabilities whose

(IEP) Individualized Education Program teams have determined

the regular test are inappropriate

and have documented this in the students' IEP

 

General modifications to the Modified Assessment are:
three answer choices /
two or three items per page 
one-column format /
larger font than in OSTP test books

bold & underlined key text in items and passages
as appropriate 
avoided use of "no change" as an answer choice

 

NOTE:  The State expects that only a small number of students
with disabilities will participate in an alternate assessment, 
and the decision to administer an alternate assessment 
must be an IEP team decision using multiple measures 
as objective evidence including:

» Previous performance on state 
  »Other assessments that document academic achievement 
  »Students progress, to date, in response to appropriate instruction

 

EOI Modified Test are offered in Winter, Spring & Summer

OCCT – CRT Test are only given in the Spring

All Modified Test  - paper/pencil test

 

OMAAP test are only available for Students on IEPs

A Portfolio Alternate Academic Assessment for EOI & OCCT/CRT Test,

intended for some students on IEPs

with the most severe cognitive disabilities

 

OAAP Portfolio Assessments are only available in the Spring
