The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act specifies that if a school does not achieve Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for three (3) consecutive years, the school district must provide free tutoring or supplemental academic enrichment services to eligible students in addition to the instruction provided during the regular school day.  This activity is entitled Supplemental Educational Services (SES), and must be provided outside of the regular school day.

A child is eligible to receive tutoring if he/she is from a low-income family, is eligible for the federal free/reduced lunch program, and is attending a Title I school has not made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) as defined in the NCLB Act.

For more information contact the Title I Office at (405) 262-4268.
